Even Maxene Magalona Wants To Kill My Dreads (...oh well... THEY ALL WANT TO CUT MY HAIR)

Last May 28, my dreads celebrated its 2nd b-day. If it was a kid, it might be talking and walking by now.

After 2 years of existence, my hair has met countless people, made friends, traveled miles and saw different places. My hair was there when I performed in different gigs and venues. It had witnessed my shifting of careers. It was with me while I slaved through three different jobs in two shitty years. It was there when I ate, drank, fucked, made love, slept, got drunk, peed, shat, walked and ran... It was there as I lived my life, each and every passing day. It was there in moments of being wasted and moments of sobriety. It was my companion as I fell in and out of love. It was there in good times and in bad...

My hair is not just a style that I wear. Like my tattoos, it has been part of who I am. Though my hair does not truly define who j.luna is, it is still a part of my body, a small factor that makes me whole.

My biggest gratitude goes out to JP Hernandez who patiently took time to backcomb my hair. If it wasn't for him, dem natty lookin' locks won't be a reality.

Remember Him This Way...

j.luna is thinking of cutting his dreads. He is planning to go bald and having his head tattooed.
